Welcome to KwaZulu-Natal!
KwaZulu-Natal is often the second-time choice of holiday-makers to South Africa. Why? Partly because it’s a bit of a hidden gem, poorly marketed and relatively unknown, and partly because of word-of-mouth. Whilst Cape Town and Kruger Park are both fabulous places to visit, KZN offers a greater variety of experiences in a smaller area, with less travel time, and is often peoples’ favourite province. The wintertime (May-August) has generally exceptional weather with warm sunny days and cooler nights.
We have two properties for guests to stay in. One in Hluhluwe, and one on Durban’s North Coast.
Hluhluwe
Hluhluwe is an amazing destination, full of wildlife, birdlife, surrounded by National Parks and boasting a great climate. Because we love it so much we moved here in 2008 and now have a beautiful property approximately 30 minutes drive from Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park, home of the White Rhino.
Albizia Camp is a camp ground situated in open grassland and thornveld, with views across the valley towards the surrounding hills. The camp offers camping and tented accommodation in a nature reserve with a great deal of wildlife and incredible bird life. Guided walks are available.

Durban’s North Coast
Just 10 minutes drive from Durban King Shaka International Airport lies Umdloti Beach, also known as eMdloti, which is a small resort village on Kwa Zulu Natal’s North Coast. Our studio apartment, Gone Surfing, is in a secure apartment complex situated in a fantastic location on the waterfront, directly across from the tidal swimming pool, and a few steps from a café and two restaurants.
Gone Surfing is a studio apartment which can accommodate up to 3 people (or maximum a family of 2 adults and 2 small children), with one queen sized bed and one large sofa.
